Young Living Aroma Siez™ essential oil blend is a relaxing blend that is excellent for massaging away life’s little discomforts. This essential oil blend is well suited for use after exercise or at the end of a trying day, it also provides soothing comfort for the head, neck, and tired feet. The anti-inflammatory and muscle-relaxing essential oils in this blend can promote circulation and treat spasmed, tight, inflamed, aching muscles resulting from injury, fatigue, or stress. It also can relieve headaches.

Aroma Siez is a blend of these Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils:

  • Basil (Ocimum basilicum) combats muscle spasms and inflammation. It is relaxing to both striated and smooth muscles (involuntary muscles such as those found in the heart and digestive system).
  • Marjoram (Origanum majorana) helps regenerate smooth muscle tissue, and assists in relieving spasms, sprains, bruises, migraine headaches and calming the nerves. It is antibacterial and antiseptic.
  • Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) relieves muscle spasms/sprains/pains, headaches, inflammation, anxiety, burns, and skin conditions (psoriasis) preventing scarring, and stretch marks. It is hypotensive, anti-infectious, anticoagulant.
  • Peppermint (Mentha piperita) has powerful pain-blocking, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic properties. A 1994 double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized cross-over study at the University of Kiel in Germany found that peppermint oil had a significant analgesic effect (Gobel et al., 1994).
  • Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) is antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, and improves circulation and lymphatic drainage. It reduces edema and water retention. It strengthens the vascular system.

Ways to Use Aroma Siez

  • Head Discomfort: Dilute 1 drop of Aroma Siez with 1 drop V-6 or olive oil. Apply to temples, and back of the neck as needed.
  • Muscle Aches: Dilute 4-8 drops with one teaspoon V-6 massage oil. Massage on sore muscles, ligaments or areas of poor circulation. More on massage and bodywork.
  • Aromatherapy: Inhale directly from the bottle. More on the effects of olfactory.
  • Diffuse: Aroma Siez can also be used in your Young Living diffuser, for best results diffuse 10-15 minutes every 1-2 hours (please do not use heat, ring or candle diffusers as this destroys the therapeutic benefit of your essential oil).
  • Bath or Foot Bath: For either, in 1/2 cup Epsom Salts or Sea Salt add 4-6 drops of Aroma Siez, mix together well and add to bath water. Soak for 15-20 minutes.

Additional Useage Tips

  • Use with Raindrop Technique
  • Aroma Siez and PanAway together topically can be helpful for achy joints

Aroma Siez Testimonials

Discomfort in Deep Muscles

“Every fall when the weather is hot, then cold, then hot, then cold here in Florida, I get chest pains that my doctor has characterized as Charlie horses in the deep muscles of my chest. Unlike a leg or foot muscle, you can’t massage these or walk to stretch them, so there was nothing to do but “endure” these annoying episodes, which sometimes lasted for two hours. One night I woke up with this chest pain, and as I lay there thinking about what I could do for it, I remembered the instant results I had had with Aroma Siez on other people’s leg cramps. So I got up and rubbed a few drops of Aroma Siez on my chest, and the pain went away in about 10 minutes!” ~ Jan E.

Aroma Siez After Strenous Activity

“We use Aroma Siez after our Tai Chi classes or a long day of gardening. Smells spicy. Works wonderfully.” ~ Cynthe B.

Aroma Siez and Muscle Spasm

“After moving a heavy bureau, I had muscle cramps along the left side of my body. The cramps were so severe, I almost went for a series of trigger point injections. Instead, I had a friend apply a drop each of helichrysum essential oil and Aroma Siez oil blend on the most tender point of the muscle and press hard, wiggling the finger just a little. In each trigger point, this process released the spasm. I repeated this procedure on a friend who had an uncomfortable charlie horse on his leg, and the discomfort stopped immediately. He was truly surprised because he had muscle spasms in his leg for years, and nothing had ever worked before.” ~ Sharon T.

Aroma Siez for Tight Muscles

“I have also recently had some experiences with cramping of the toes and feet (VERY uncomfortable), and I used Aroma Siez, since it is for seized up muscles. It worked beautifully, within a couple of minutes.” ~ Joy

Aroma Siez and Foot Cramps

“Another manifestation of my current body imbalance was waking up in the middle of the night with foot cramps…big OUCH! Thank goodness I had my trusty Aroma Siez (for those seized-up muscles) handy. I just applied a couple of drops neat on top of the feet, and on the bottom, and again, the cramping stopped as if by magic. I am so grateful that I now have built my “stash” of oils to have them all. I remember well when I was just beginning in the business, and my upline (who just came into the business a week or so before me) and I used to discuss which oils we would order first, in our desire to build an inventory, and how we felt it would be quite a while before we could order the kits.

It’s interesting to look back on that time, and I’m so grateful I stayed with it. Over time, Young Living has brought many blessings…not only the wonderful effective healing, but the abundance to now order whatever I choose without concern. The choice to join Young Living certainly turned out to be one of my better decisions in this lifetime!” ~ Anonymous

Aroma Siez for Charlie Horse

“From time to time I get charlie horses and when I apply the Aroma Siez on the knot and massage it in the muscle will relax and the knot goes away. ( Another thing you need to remember is when you get a lot of charlie horses you are not drinking enough water). Also I use the Aroma Siez when I do massage to relieve the tight muscles in the back.” ~  Nancy S.

What Doug did for disk problem

“My experience with essential oils started like most people, with a physical condition and pain. I began having severe neck pain which progressed down my left shoulder and ultimately to my left elbow. At first, I just lived with it, but then I started to experience weakness in my left tricep, and that’s when I decided to contact a doctor and see what was wrong.

An MRI showed the disk between the C-6 and C-7 vertebrae to be bulging. The swelling in the joint was putting pressure on the nerve which was causing the pain and the weakness in my arm. In fact, the tricep muscle was actually beginning to atrophy.

My doctor gave me 3 options, first, physical therapy sessions. I did that with little effect. Second, an epidural in my neck, which is an injection of anti-inflammatory drugs directly into the disk designed to reduce the swelling and help the disk move back in place. The third option was surgery, where they would fuse the two vertebrae together.

I was in my early 30’s and very active in sports and skiing and did not want options 2 or 3! That’s when a friend told me about the oils and how they had helped him with a similar problem with his back.  Long story short, I tried them, and it was nothing short of a miracle!  Within minutes my neck and shoulder felt better, and by the next morning, I had no more pain! ZERO!

My neck and arm have been fine since, nearly 10 years now, and I regularly use the oils as simple maintenance and for many other reasons that are too numerous to list here. Many people have asked me which oils were used on my back and neck, so here is a list of the oils and how they were applied by Julie Herbert – whose husband, Gordon, first introduced me to these amazing medicines.

Start with Valor on the feet. Then layer oils of Basil, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, Wintergreen, PanAway, Cypress, LEMONGRASS, Geranium, and Peppermint on the VitaFlex points on the feet, one after another. (There is a foot chart in the book, Essential Oils Desk Reference, which shows where points related to the spine, shoulders and neck are located on the feet called VitaFlex points).

Then apply the same oils on the neck and shoulder or pain-affected area using Peppermint last, followed by Ortho Ease. Peppermint is used last because it is the amplifier of the other oils followed by Ortho Ease. Today, for someone with the same condition, you would also use Idaho Balsam Fir, and then start taking the supplements BLM (for bone, muscle, and ligaments) and Sulfurzyme.

BLM and Sulfurzyme were not available when I had my neck problem. I am a true believer in the power of these oils to heal the body, mind, and spirit. I hope you will experience the same kind of results as you use these wonderful products. I can’t put into words how grateful I am to have discovered essential oils.” ~ Doug L.

Hair loss is caused by hormonal imbalances (such as increase in testosterone), or inflammatory conditions (as in the case of alopecia areata). Essential oils are excellent for cleansing, nourishing, and strengthening the hair follicle and shaft. Rosemary (cineol chemotype) encourages hair growth.

As men age, their DHEA and testosterone levels decline. Conversely, levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) increase, contributing to prostate enlarge – ment and hair loss. Because pregnenolone is the master hormone from which all hormones are created, men can directly benefit from trans dermal pregnenolone creams as a way of jump-starting sagging DHEA levels. Herbs such as saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum can prevent the conversion of testosterone into DHT, thereby reducing prostate enlargement and slowing hair loss.

Alopecia areata (Hair Loss)

Alopecia is an inflammatory hair-loss disease that is the second-leading cause of baldness in the U.S. A randomized, double-blind study at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland found that certain essential oils were extremely effective in combating this disease.1,2

Choose ‘Natural’ Shampoo and Conditioner

Most shampoos (yes, including those sold in health food stores) contain chemicals that are unhealthy for the scalp and hair growth. What I like most about Young Living shampoo’s and conditioner’s is that they are entirely free of the chemicals you commonly find in all shampoo’s and conditioners.

Additionally, if build-up on your hair has been an issue I can tell you that I have always had the exact same problem, no matter how natural the shampoo or conditioner claimed to be. Each month I would have to switch brands so my hair wouldn’t be bogged down by the build-up of ingredients. That came to a screeching halt about ten years, when I began using Young Living shampoo’s and conditioner’s!

I have tried all three of Young Living’s shampoo’s and conditioner’s (Lavender, Rosewood, or Lemon-Sage) and used each of them for extended periods of time and NOT once have I ever had a nasty build-up on my hair – and that’s years worth of using the same shampoo and conditioner.

The other nice thing about Young Living shampoo’s and conditioner’s is that they are so concentrated that I have to add a little water to them to get them out of the bottles.

I have long hair and I only go through ‘two’ bottles of Young Living conditioner a year!

A bottle of Young Living shampoo lasts me almost two months.

I save a fortune using Young Living shampoo and conditioner, plus I’m not exposing myself to harmful chemicals! What also makes it even more cost efficient is that I am a wholesale member and save 24% off retail pricing – I highly recommend you consider doing the same. ~ Evelyn Vincent

Essential Oils Blend Recipes for Hair Loss

These recipes contain essential oils that are known for assisting in hair loss issues. These are done separately from normal shampooing and are best done at bedtime for best results.

Alopecia Areata Scalp Oils:

  • 4 drops Rosemary
  • 4 drops Thyme
  • 4 drops Lavender
  • 4 drops Cedarwood

Dilute above essential oils in 3-4 tablespoons V-6 (or olive, grapeseed or fractionated coconut oil) in a jar. Dip fingertips into mixture and massage gently into scalp before sleep nightly (do not ‘rub’ fingers hard across scalp as this can cause hair to break at the root level).

Hair Loss Prevention Blend #1:

  • 10 drops Cedarwood
  • 8 drops Rosemary
  • 10 drops Sandalwood
  • 10 drops Lavender

Hair Loss Prevention Blend #2:

  • 3 drops Rosemary
  • 5 drops Lavender
  • 4 drops Cypress
  • 2 drops Clary Sage
  • 2 drops Juniper

Add 10 drops of either of the above blends to 1 tsp. of fractionated coconut oil and massage into the scalp where it is balding; then rub gently into the remainder of the scalp. This works best when done at night. It may help to alternate the two above blends.

Additional Young Living Product Recommendations for Hair Loss

The Liver is the body’s largest internal organ and major detoxifier for the body. Even the toxins in the air we breathe are filtered by the liver, including chemicals from aerosol cleaners, paint, bug sprays, personal care products, household cleaning products, air fresheners, etc.

Juva Cleanse® provides support for the liver through a carefully formulated blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils that supports normal liver function.*

Clinical Studies Using Helichrysum, Ledum, Celery Seed Essential Oils (Juva Cleanse®)

Clinical studies show that an essential oil blend of helichrysum, ledum, and celery seed (Juva Cleanse®) dramatically amplified the elimination from the body of heavy metals, especially mercury, one of the most toxic of all non-radioactive metals. Mercury is particularly damaging to the brain and nervous system because it can pass through blood-brain barrier and accumulate indefinitely in motor neurons.

A 2003 clinical study involving a group of four patients tested the effect of three essential oils on the urinary output of mercury. Four healthy individuals (ages 27 to 69) took two capsules per day (approximately 1,500 mg) of a blend of helichrysum, ledum, and celery seed (the Juva Cleanse® essential oil blend). The first urine collection occurred prior to essential oil therapy, with the second and third urine collections occurring two and four days after essential oil therapy had begun. The results showed that all four participants more than doubled their urinary elimination of mercury over the four days of evaluation.

How to Use Juva Cleanse® Essential Oil Blend

  • Apply topically over liver or on foot Vita Flex points for the liver and kidneys.
  • Use with the Raindrop Technique.

Juva Cleanse® as a Dietary Supplement

  • Dilute 50:50 (with organic olive oil) and put in a size 0 capsule. Take twice daily.
  • Or, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat’s or rice milk.

Gentle Baby Testimonial

“The 3,000 mile long drive across the country when I moved to North Carolina was hard on my body, particularly my legs. My feet, ankles and calves were very swollen from sitting in the car driving for a week. I tried a few different oils and the one that made the biggest difference was, oddly, Gentle Baby! It made the swelling go down and the discomfort ease – go figure!

Moral of the story – if one oil doesn’t work – try another, don’t limit your choices to what you think an oil may or not do… you just never really know.” ~ Evelyn Vincent

Aroma and sprituality have been intertwined from before recorded history. It predates Paganism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, the romans, the Greeks, and ancient Egypt. The earliest known expression of religion dates back 100,000 years to the Neandertals.

The cave site of Shanidar located in the Zagros Mountains of Kurdistan in Iraq, shows that burials were most likely performed with some type of ceremony. In Shanidar IV there were flowers that had been introduced into the burial, they may have been chosen for their medicinal qualities. The flowers included:

  • Yarrow,
  • Cornflower,
  • Bachelor’s Button,
  • St. Barnaby’s Thistle,
  • Ragwort or Groundsel,
  • Grape Hyacinth,
  • Joint Pine or Woody Horsetail, and
  • Hollyhock

So it seems that the knowledge of the properties, if not the oils themselves, of essential oils has a very long history. Essential oils are what give herbs and plants their scent,  healing properties, and in some cases can enhance our connection to God, the Creator, or whatever you believe is responsible for the creation of the universe.

Closer to recorded hsitory, through the rituals we see today, we can begin to understand the importance of aroma in spirituality.

Many  of the religions today, both large and small, refer to the afterlife as a place filled with incredible aromas – the Polynesians call it Rohutu noanoa (fragrant rohutu), Buddhists will pass to the fragrant mountain known as gandhamadana, with the Greeks it was the Elysium fields (at least for heroes) which was filled with delicious fragrances.

In Ethiopia the Coptic and Orhtodox chrurches burn Fankincense and Myrrh. The Tibetans burn juniper to force the sky door open. Native Americans used, and still use, sage, sweetgrass, cedar, juniper and tobacco in their ceremonies for purification of the mind and body and to provide a link to the world of spirits and the creator. The Catholic branch of Christianity uses incense, during many of its rituals, that include frankincense, cedar, lavender, rose, sandalwood, myrrh and many others.

Each of these aromas were selected long ago because they are capable of stimulating the body/mind/soul in such a way that a connection between man and the divine can be made. This is not the same as what mind altering substances work. The mind altering substances such as LSD and peyote change how the body senses and processes  information.

No matter what the religion or belief, a connection can be made, or enhanced between yourself and the divine, by the use of the aromatic compounds found in plants.

Wiseman Oils @ Young Living Circle

“I feel very strongly that the biggest problem we face today is a lack of love. I learned several years ago from patients I saw in my practice that the cause of what we call “dis-ease” is nothing more than a deficiency of self love. When we have self love, we take care of our body–our temple–because we expect it to serve us. When we have self love, we feed it the way it should be fed. When we have self love, we nurture and care for our bodies. We don’t damage and destroy them.

When there is no love, that is when war rages–between countries, between people, and within a person’s head. Several years ago I did a seminar in which I preformed blood research. I had my microscopes there and performed the tests on site. A lady came to me after we had concluded the seminar. She said, “Gary, have you ever looked at the blood of someone who is having a real emotional trauma, then given them oils and tested their blood later on?” I said, “No, I haven’t.” She then asked me if I would mind doing that for a client of hers, and I did so.

Of course, her client’s blood was very aggregated—it contained a great deal of bacteria from undigested food particles. When people are under stress they don’t digest their food very well, so that is a pretty natural thing to see. The woman was clearly upset because her husband had left her, she was in the middle of a divorce, and her home was under foreclosure. It was a traumatic time for her.

We applied some oils on her and she calmed down and stopped crying. After about 20 to 30 minutes, we took another blood specimen. That is when I realized that we were dealing with something that was very, very real. Her tests the second time were very different from the first results, much more normal.

That’s one of the many reasons I am so proud of the things we do at Young Living, our products, and the care we take with them. I have heard countless testimonials about the wonderful effects our oils have on people’s lives. Real effects, life-changing effects. I have seen miracles, and I have experienced miracles. I know how important these oils are and how much good they do. The oils can make a tremendous difference, but they have to be used…. and shared.

None of us has to settle for second best in this life–unless we choose to settle. No matter how big obstacles seem, they can be handled or improved. The oils can help you move beyond the things that are blocking you–both physically and emotionally.

If you have a battle going on inside you, stop fighting it. Focus your energy on positives instead of negatives. Place your trust in a better future and in the ability you have to change whatever needs to be changed so you can move into that future. Use the oils; they will help you. And share them with others who also need them. Be a positive force that lifts other up rather than dragging yourself down. Start loving yourself, and things will get better.”

Many use their Young Living Essential Oils to kill or control and repel insect pests in the garden and around the home. Using essential oils in this way is a terrific option for those looking to eliminate toxins in their home, life, and the environment. I personally choose something natural over any form of chemical treatment whether it be for insect control, cleaning my home, or personal hygiene; I feel going natural is the only way to improve and protect our health. The question arises… why are insects killed by an application of an essential oil and people aren’t, here’s my answer…

We need to look at the really big picture here as it is important in understanding why. It doesn’t kill us for a couple of reasons… first, one or two drops of essential oil on a flea or a tick is almost the equivalent of us having a dump truck load of essential oil spilling on us, if we had that much poured on us we’d probably die too. Even too much of a good thing can be harmful.

Second, aromatic plants create essential oils to protect themselves from all sorts of pathogens, fungi, insects, bad bacteria, and microorganisms that could cause harm or kill them during their life cycle. They’re designed to either kill or deter certain insects or microorganisms that could endanger the survival of their species. Even though we do eat plants, we are not considered an insect pest in the plant kingdom, as such they have not created chemicals specifically to kill or harm us intentionally for the sake of warding us off.

Essential oils do not kill the bacteria or organisms that are beneficial to the plant or humans – unless if in extremely high amounts, like in my dump truck analogy.

Additionally, many of the same things that affect us also affect plants. Because humans have had a close relationship with plants and we evolved together over centuries, our bodies know how to process the compounds in an essential oil. This is why a properly distilled essential oil that has not been adulterated will not leave behind in your body a bunch of nasty stuff. This is also why I do not appreciate products and drugs that contain ‘isolated’ ingredients derived from plants; an isolated ingredient works on and has a completely different affect when it is ‘not’ with all of the other compounds that were originally present in that plant. In other words, all of the compounds are there for a reason.

Humans also found, through trial and error, that certain aromatic plants helped us with many of the same types of issues plants encounter, like: fungus, mold, viruses, bad bacteria, wound healing. Because we evolved together, and humans relied on plants for both food and health, our bodies process the plant parts and essential oils harmoniously.

Some insect and mammal species haven’t evolved so closely with the aromatic plants. As such they can’t tolerate certain essential oils or even process them very well, like: fish, frogs, reptiles, birds, and to a lesser extent cats… what do these species have in common… they never relied on land plants as their main source of food or medicine. This is not to say you can never use an essential oil around those species, just that mindfulness to what their bodies can process and tolerate needs to be examined before hand.

Canines are another species that have a closer relationship with plants, after the hunt and kill, the part of the catch which is eaten first is the stomach, which is pretty much partially digested plant matter. They also eat some wild fruits and vegetables, and some protein/raw meat.

Insects often attack and eat plants that are in a weaken state. A weakened plant does not contain all of the normal compounds a healthy plant contains.

Every species is both prey and predator. Everything attacks and eats something else, every species on earth does this. This has kept every species from taking over completely, it’s like a checks and balance system, it’s a natural cycle that is suppose to happen. When this natural balance is upset, due to: extremes in climate or weather changes, or the extinction of a species (which is almost always caused through human interference or behavior).

For instance, bringing exotic species to a foreign country, whether it’s plant or animal; there’s a reason why everything isn’t every place and it’s called ‘community’, as in a ‘plant community’. A community is places, like niches, where conditions are within a certain set of criteria in order for a species to be successful, some species are more particular than others.

We see many examples of an alien plant or animal species take-over when that species has been introduced into a landscape where they are not native. This almost always results in destruction to the native habitat that supports the species native to that place. Some examples of this happening in the US are the introduction of: Gypsy Moth, Kudzu, Purple Loosestrife, Quackgrass, Bamboo, Butterfly Bush, Autumn Olive, European Starling [ just to name a tiny few] have a very real and destructive impact economically and environmentally.

There is also another thing visible in nature, you will never see a dandelion or brambles growing in an old growth forest. Those are species you only find in disturbed places, and as times passes that place transforms in a succession, paving the way for the next series of species to take over… everything is evolving, very slowly over time, adapting and doing what it can for the survival of its species.

The big picture is enormous, so large in fact that it’s difficult for us to comprehend many times. It’s easy for us to forget where we have come from, and where we are going.

It is for these reasons that I have particularly strong feelings why there are certain things we should stop doing and stop using. It’s really important to step back and consider more than just the superficial impact we’re having on the whole picture. Like many of our state forest signs say… “take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.” That same mindfulness and awareness can be put to use at home, every single day; whether it be with using our essential oils by the drop, buying locally, or stop buying items we can live just fine without.

Two websites that are great resources for getting back in touch with nature and living a more balanced lifestyle are Storyof Stuff.com and LoveTheEarth.com both can help us better realize just how much our choices can make a difference and the value of living in a more balanced way.

In short, why essential oils don’t kill us is because we use them in very small amounts, and unlike insect and virus pests we have a many centuries long harmonious relationship with most plant species.

I do want to add… this pertains to properly grown plants (beyond organic standards) and properly distilled plants. This is important because most essential oils and aromatherapy oils available are not fit for aromatic or topical applications due to adulteration and solvents. You don’t want to negate the benefits by using an inferior essential oil. In my over twenty year experience using essential oils I have found Young Living Essential Oils to be the best, they are superior to others; which explains why they set the benchmark and quality standards in the world.
