Within our Shadow, we store away those parts of us – whether emotions, thoughts, beliefs, experiences or characteristics – that we and others deem as bad, unacceptable, shameful, unlovable or dark. Fortunately, the Shadow isn’t all bad, in fact its quite good as it is one of the easiest routes for us to reach our goodness; our Light.

In this free webinar, Evelyn and David will teach you about your Shadow and Aromatherapy, as well as instructing you on how to use essential oils when working with your Shadow. In a safe and gentle way, you will be lead through a process of uncovering some of what is in your Shadow with the intention of integration and harmony. This is for you to appreciate yourself in a new light and perhaps even embrace your Shadow side.

Generally speaking, we rarely explore our darker nature with a smile, much less with excitement and enthusiasm. However, Evelyn and David will show you how rewarding and fulfilling exploring your Shadow with Aromatherapy can be!

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go." ~ Dr. Seuss

Many can identify with stress and tension locating itself somewhere in the body, mine has always gone straight to my neck and shoulders. Causing pain, discomfort, stiff neck, difficultly turning my neck, and when I wake up feeling stiff and uncomfortable it produces an emotional feeling of, “ugh, here we go again. I’d just love to have this nonsense go away for good.”

Two weeks ago, I went back to the drawing board, my essential oils case and Essential Oils Desk Reference (EODR). The blend called Release™ has always been quite good for me, though it never addressed the problem completely, two weeks ago I decided that it was time to find an essential oil that more adequately nipped this in the bud.

After about an hour, I made my decision. I chose the blend Humility™ and two singles, Sandalwood and Jasmine. I’ve had these three oils massaged on my neck, shoulders and back three times in the past two weeks and I have to tell you the results have been amazing! But before I tell you my results I want to share how I came to this conclusion so that it may help you make choices that produce great results to.

How I went about choosing Humility™, Sandalwood and Jasmine

Knowing that therapeutic essential oils have profound effects on the body, mind and soul. And that through the olfactory system scent plays a huge role in how we feel, our responses to events, and our immune system. I started looking through my EODR and reading the benefits of some of the aromas I am particularly attracted to, scents that make me feel like, “aaaaaah, I’m in heaven.”

So I looked up Ylang ylang, Rose, Rosewood, Frankincense, Jasmine, Neroli, and Sandalwood. Here’s a bit about what the EODR said about each of these essential oils:

  • Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) is considered a holy anointing oil in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. Stimulates the limbic part of the brain, elevating the mind and helping to overcome stress and despair. More on Frankincense essential oil
  • Rose (Rosa damascena) possesses the highest frequency of the oils. It creates a sense of balance, harmony, and well-being and elevates the mind. More on Rose essential oil
  • Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) is high in linalool, which has a relaxing, empowering effect. It is very grounding and strengthening.
  • Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) increases relaxation; balances male and female energies. It also restores confidence and equilibrium.
  • Neroli (Citrus sinensis) was used by the ancient Egyptians for healing the mind, body, and spirit. It is stabilizing and strengthening to the emotions, promoting peace, confidence, and awareness. It brings everything into focus. It is used for depression and anxiety.
  • Sandalwood (Santalum album) is high in sesquiterpene compounds which stimulate the pineal gland and the limbic region of the brain, the center of emotions and memory. Used traditionally in yoga and meditation.

Reading a little further I saw that most of those essential oils were in the blend Forgiveness™. I looked in my Aroma Complete case and saw that I didn’t have any Forgiveness™. I did find that the blend Humility™ had many of the same essential oils as Forgiveness™, but was lacking the Jasmine and Sandalwood (which I was very much desiring). Humility essential oil blend

Humility™ is helpful for obtaining forgiveness and a deeper spiritual awareness. This soothing and calming combination of oils brings balance to your heart and mind, enabling you to find a peaceful place, where healing can begin.

So I got out the Humility™, Jasmine and Sandalwood and had my boyfriend layer each of these three on my neck, shoulders, and back. Layering is a way of applying the oils, you drip 4-8 drops of one essential oil on the location, wait about 2-3 minutes, then do the same with the next, and repeat. After the last essential oil is applied you then apply your V-6™ Massage Oil (a superb carrier oil) and massage.

My Experience and Results

As each essential oil was layered on me I noticed how amazingly the combination smelled – it would make an excellent perfume! It smelled so fabulous that I was drawn to inhaling much deeper and longer breaths, and I couldn’t stop saying how much I loved the scent.

About 5 minutes later, while the massage was still going on, my neck and body began to feel like a Raggity Ann doll. Then, I began to feel a little nauseous (which is a good sign, it means that trapped negative stuff is releasing from my brain, body, and my cells).

Shortly after the massage ended I got up and changed into my PJ’s, this is when the experience got very cool… while slipping on my nightgown I noticed that my sense of feeling of my skin on my neck, shoulders and back were alive again! This may sound strange, but I had not realized just how much skin sensitivity I regained in the massaged area. This has never happened to me before. I could all of a sudden feel on my skin the seams and draping fabric on my skin. I sat down on the couch and could feel the texture and creases in the leather on my back through my PJ’s! This is not an over-sensitivity, or hyper-sensitivity – just that my back could now feel sensations like other areas of my body. I had never realized before that I had such a low degree of skin sensitivity in this area. It was as if for the first time in my life that I had true feeling in my back!

I awoke the next morning… absolutely no discomfort, not neck or shoulder stiffness, and no more thinking, “ugh, here we go again!” Instead I felt like… “now this IS how people are suppose to feel when they wake up in the morning!” Rested, alert, ready to face the day with a brightness in the eyes and a bounce in the step.

Other changes I’ve noticed are: brain fog is gone, clearer thinking, quicker thinking, perceptions have shifted, I’m working and doing things more efficiently, and on the spiritual side of things, I feel much more connected to the energy of nature – and I normally tend to be a very grounded and intuitive person. I’m very impressed with the results I’ve gotten.

The other two times I had my boyfriend give me a massage the exact same way as the first, each time I felt different than the last – like significant steps are being taken and each time I’ve felt that I’ve gained further ground in much more profound ways.

This is absolutely a terrific combination of essential oils for moving out stuck emotions in the body. I highly recommend giving Humility, Sandalwood, and Jasmine a try if you hold emotions in body areas.

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go." ~ Dr. Seuss

Do you ever feel like you could use a quick pick me up to feel happier? Have you ever thought of how a scent changes how you feel, or brings up memories of someone or something from your past? When you get to feeling low and want to get away from that feeling what do you do?

It is inevitable that we all are going to have bad moments or bad days. From stubbing our toe, breaking a glass, or getting some bad news. Suggestion, try not watching the news for a week.  We here about the news in our every day lives,  and it is most likely going to be sad, bad news, so why not remove oneself from it for a while.  You may realize you don’t need to watch the news. You won’t miss out, because if you don’t watch it on TV, for sure you will hear about it from someone.

So what kind of quick fixes are there that may help you to feel better? Better yet, is this quick fix going to help you to feel better in a natural way rather than using a drug or chemical of some sort.  The answer is YES!!

Being a regular user of therapeutic-grade essential oils I am aware of the joyful, uplifting oils that are available.  I always start my day applying an essential oil and I have available with me at all times, different essential oils that may help me or others for various circumstances.

What are some essential oils that could be used to help one be in a happier mood?

  1. Abundance blend was created to enhance the frequency of the harmonic magnetic energy field that surrounds us. This higher frequency creates what is called “the law of attraction,” which refers to the things we attract to ourselves. Might as well attract happiness! Abundance opens us to a wealth of possibilities.  Apply topically and or diffuse.
  2. Gratitude blend is a soothing blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils designed to elevate the spirit, calm emotions, and bring relief to the body while helping to foster a grateful attitude.  Start your day and end your day thinking of what you are grateful for.  Apply topically and or diffuse.
  3. Harmony blend is an exquisite blend that promotes physical and emotional well-being by bringing harmonic balance to the energy centers of the body. The liberating, balancing, and calming essential oils in this blend open us to new possibilities while contributing to an overall feeling of well-being.  If you have chaos about you, diffuse this essential oil and it may help to balance the energy around you.  Apply topically and or diffuse.
  4. Jasmine has a warm, exotic, floral fragrance that relaxes, soothes, uplifts, and enhances self-confidence. Jasmine is beneficial for the skin. It has been used throughout history for romance and attraction and for balancing the feminine energy of the body. Apply topically and or diffuse.
  5. Joy blend is a luxuriously exotic blend with uplifting overtones that creates magnetic energy and brings joy to the heart. When worn as cologne or perfume, Joy exudes an alluring and irresistible fragrance that inspires romance and togetherness. When diffused, it can be refreshing and uplifting. Apply topically and or diffuse.
  6. Lavender has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. Apply topically and or diffuse.
  7. Rose has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic. It helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence.  Dab a little under your nose, to breath in the beautiful scent throughout the day. Apply topically and or diffuse.
  8. White Angelica blend is a calming and soothing blend that encourages feelings of protection and security. It combines oils used during ancient times to enhance the body’s aura, which brings about a sense of strength and endurance. Many people use it as protection against negative energy. White Angelica works great applied to shoulders.  Apply topically and or diffuse.
  9. Ylang Ylang has a sweet, soft, flowery fragrance that has made it a romantic favorite. In Indonesia, the petals are often strewn across a marriage bed. Ylang ylang is extremely effective in calming and bringing about a sense of relaxation, and it may help with releasing feelings of anger, tension, and nervous irritability.  Apply topically and or diffuse.

After you have your essential oil, click here for ways to use essential oils.

The first place to apply the essential oil is to the bottoms of your feet. Before you put your shoes on for the day, take a moment to first drop 1-2 drops of the essential oil and about 1/8 teaspoon of V6 carrier oil onto the palm of your hand, stir three times in a clock wise motion, and then apply to the bottoms of your feet.

With the remainder of the scent that is on your hands, cup your hands over your nose and take several nice long deep inhalations. (Be mindful to not touch your face with your hands, just cup your hands about an inch away from your nose and face.)  Read more on aromatherapy

When essential oils are applied to the bottoms of the feet the essential oil passes easily through our skin and cell membranes within 20 minutes.

Diffusing

You can also put 5-10 drops of the essential oil in a diffuser to diffuse in your environment. The bonus by doing this is not only may it help you to feel more joyful and happy, but anyone else that is around may feel better too.

When diffusing essential oils the essential oil is in the air, and you are breathing in the tiny molecules of essential oil and this effect may help to balance your moods.

In a cold air nebulizer diffuser start by diffusing your Young Living essential oils for 15-30 minutes, one to four times a day for normal situations. Place the nebulizer diffuser higher in the room (a shelf, bar, or fireplace mantle are good choices) so that the essential oil mist has a longer distance to fall through the air. (Read more on diffusing)

The natural properties found in Young Living essential oils produce a soothing, uplifting effect on the mind and emotions. When an essential oil containing the optimum level of therapeutic constituents is diffused, the result fosters a sense of emotional balance and well-being.

When the aroma of essential oils are inhaled, the scent travels to the reticular system of the brain stem where emotions and memories are connected. This enables essential oils to improve emotional wellness in many ways.

Aromatherapy, or essential oils, are helpful in elevating and balancing moods. Nature has many answers for problems and balancing out emotions is one of them. Therapeutic grade essential oils carry the “life force” of the plant and they offer the plant’s vibrancy and normalizing effects.

The fragrance of an essential oil can directly affect everything from your emotional state to your lifespan. Essential oils work differently than any other natural substance.

Another way to use essential oils is to wear them as a perfume.  Apply the essential oil as you would a perfume, on your pulse points and enjoy the fragrance and how you feel.

Essential oils are an excellent way to show your love to others, by giving them a bottle as a gift.  They will appreciate the gesture of love and feel better wearing it and remembering who gave them the gift.

A Statistical Validation of Raindrop Technique by David Stewart, Ph.D., R.A.

Abstract

During the past ten years, Raindrop Technique has become a widely used therapeutic protocol throughout the United States. Numerous anecdotal accounts relate the significant and substantive benefits generated by this procedure. Raindrop Technique has been use to ameloriate cases of viral infection, kyphosis, scoliosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and many other conditions.

As its popularity and usage have increased, a small group of aromatherapists has questioned the use of the procedure and its reliance on undiluted therapeutic-grade essential oils. So, in an effort to statistically validate the benefit (or lack thereof) of the Raindrop Technique, I circulated a questionnaire in late 2001 among several thousand aromatherapists, health practitioners, and users of essential oils to poll those who receive Raindrop and those who perform it. This study summarizes the experiences of more than 14,000 sessions of Raindrop. Raindrop Technique

Of the 422 adults who responded to the survey, 370 were female and 52 were male. They represented 39 states of the United States, 5 provinces of Canada, and 5 other countries. 265 were facilitators, 259 were both facilitators and receivers, 157 were receivers only. Among the 416 receivers, a total of 3,584 Raindrop procedures were experienced (mean value = 8.6 treatments each). Among the 265 facilitators, a total of 11,256 procedures were reported (mean value = 42.5 each). Receivers reported their Raindrop experiences to be Positive (97%), Pleasant (98%), Resulted in healing (16%), Felt better afterwards (98%), Improved health (89%), and Improved emotional state (86%). 99.9% of receivers said they would receive Raindrop again.

The differences in the response rates among those who reported improved health vs. actual healing can be due to the subjects’ likely interpretation of the question. “Healing” implies a total resolution of a preexisting disease or health condition, whereas “improved health” merely indicates an improvement (whether slight or great) in health or preexisting condition.

46.2% identified themselves as licensed professionals. 27% were massage therapists (LMT, CMT, RMT). 11% were registered nurses while 1.5% were chiropractors. There was one M.D. and one D.O. who responded.

As for negative responses: 1 in 168 (67 incidences out 11,256 reported Raindrops) considered Raindrop to be unpleasant. 1 in 489 considered it a negative experience. Only 1 in 1,023 said they would not receive Raindrop again. Unpleasant experiences reported (in order of frequency) were: Burning sensation on skin, Skin rashes, Nausea, Headaches, Tiredness. Most identified these as symptoms of a detoxification process. All of these were reported as temporary, often followed by positive results including relief of various symptoms.

Perceived benefits reported (in order of frequency) were: Removed back pain, Stopped cold or flu, Euphoria, Felt energized, Relieved stress or anxiety, General reduction of pain.

The study includes 74 brief commentaries by Raindrop facilitators and receivers that provide insights into the technique, its practice and outcomes, that cannot be discerned from numerical data alone.

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go." ~ Dr. Seuss

Much of the cause of imbalance is in the endocrine glands, which create the electrical balance throughout the physical body. When the imbalance is due to allergy in sinuses, throat, or pituitary insufficiency, apply the complementary oil to the crown of the head, the forehead, and the thymus.

The blend Release stimulates harmony and balance by releasing memory trauma from liver cells, which store emotions of anger, hate, and frustration. Apply neat over liver, apply compress over liver, or massage Vita Flex points on feet and hands.

Sandalwood oxygenates the pineal/pituitary gland, thus improving attitude and body balance. Rose has a frequency of 320 MHz, the highest of all oils. Its beautiful fragrance is aphrodisiac-like and almost intoxicating. The frequency of every cell is enhanced, bringing balance and harmony to the body. Rose is stimulating and ele vat ing to the mind, creating a sense of well being.

Lavender is very good unless it is an oil that is disliked. Harmony will probably work in most situations. Inner Child is also excellent.

For overall body electrical imbalance, put a couple of drops of the complementary oil in each palm, have the person hold the right palm over the navel and the left palm over the thymus and take three slow, deep breaths. Place the dominant hand over the navel and the other hand over the thymus and rub clockwise three times. This works through the body’s electrical field by pulling the fre quency in through the umbilicus, the thymus, and the olfactory to the limbic system in the brain to create electrical balance.

Apply Thieves on the bottom of the feet. Sage is good for balancing frequencies when disease lowers body frequency.

Harmony on the energy centers (or chakras) helps balance the body, enhancing the healing process and facilitating the release of stored emotions.

The energy points corresponding to the endocrine glands are:

  • The crown (top) of the head (pineal)
  • Forehead (pituitary)
  • Neck (thyroid)
  • Thymus
  • Solar plexus (adrenal)
  • Navel (pancreas)
  • Groin (ovaries/gonads)

Other essential oils that can be used are: frankincense, myrtle, Valor, 3 Wise Men, and Joy.
