Do you feel as beautiful, healthy, and sexy as you would like? Chances are if you are reading this, then you don’t! It is hard to feel beautiful if you don’t feel healthy. Furthermore, if you are not healthy it is even harder to fake that beautiful radiance that good health brings. Statistics show that 64% of Americans are overweight, 26% are obese, that 60 million Americans have active acne and 20% of them are adults. If you are reading this, then you are among the thousands of people searching for answers.
Some of the nations prettiest people state that they got-and stay that way by eating healthy and living healthy lifestyles. In speaking of beauty, however, let’s first put things into perspective. According to www.bulimiahelp.org, the average fashion model is around 5′9 to 6′ tall, but the average woman is 5′4″ tall. The average fashion model weighs 110 to 118 lbs where the average woman weighs 142 lbs. I am sorry, and I know I am female so my judgement may not count for much, but I don’t think a six foot toothpick that is probably cranky because she has low blood sugar from living off of cotton balls as a diet sounds very sexy, and I don’t know any men that think so either! I am an average height woman with normal weight range of 117 to 120 and my husband complains that I am too thin, I would hate to see what he thought of me if I was six foot on top of this!
The following statistics were also taken from www.bulimieahelp.org with my notes typed in parenthesis;
- 64% bulemics are near a normal weight range (reminds me of the old saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder)
- It is thought that the number of women suffering with bulimia has tripled between 1988 and 1993 (could this be because we are consistently flashed with images of amazon stick-women and lead to believe this is what men want? Why do we women even spend the money on those stupid fashion magazines anyways? Whatever happened to creativity and individuality?)
- Children as young as 6 years have been known to develop bulimia (this is sad-again, mama’s are failing to teach their girls an important lesson they themselves never learned-women are SUPPOSED to grow up and have curves!)
- More than one in three “normal dieters” progress to severe dieting. Frequent dieters are 18x more likely to develop an eating disorder (if it was a proper, nourishing and gently cleansing diet that was fit for human consumption then the “diet” would not be so unpleasant to stick to, would eventually work, and wouldn’t evolve into an eating disorder)
- Although eating disorders can be very harmful many can and do recover.
- Conservative figures show that 150,000 women die each year from dieting- related causes. (Dead bodies=pretty? I don’t think so.)
Years ago, I asked my brother who was a teenager at the time who he thought the most pretty girls we knew were. His response ASTOUNDED me. The girls he thought were prettiest were what is considered above as average height and build (they were 5′4″ and around 145 lbs)! They didn’t even have perfect skin! As he described what he liked about them, it was their happy disposition, and radiant glow.
So, with that said, I would just like to emphasize that the first step to becoming more beautiful is to realize you may not be as bad off as you see yourself to begin with. Believing you are beautiful can go a looooong ways in any beauty regime!
It is easy to see how bad health can destroy our lives and looks. Constipation can make us bloated, and cause a host of problems such as parasites, prolapsed colon (which cases that tire like look in the front) and even weight gain. Health authorities have long since taught that with constipation eventually the liver will become overloaded since it cannot empty it’s contents into the colon, and this can cause fatty deposits, weight gain, cellulite, hormone imbalances, and blood and kidney strain. Once the liver, kidneys and blood become full of toxins, these toxins will start to try to leave the body through the skin in the form of skin disorders. Dr. Christopher used to teach that 90% of disease starts in the colon. When it comes to getting healthy there are two main concepts that places like the School of Natural Healing teach, and these are to create a lifestyle of cleansing and nourishing the body, and eventually it will heal itself.
A major area people are destroying their health in is by drowning themselves in petrochemicals. What you put on the skin soaks into the body! The chemicals in bath and body products, lotions, as well as household cleaning products are devastating to good health-beauty. Although they may smell good, and temporarily make you and things beautiful the truth is they are silently contributing to your health problems. Chemical products as this are like silent time bombs and eventually will make the body, outside and inside, very ugly! To learn more about why, read Petrochemicals, Free Radicals, And Essential Oils.
We have a saying in our home that is, “Small Steps Count”. The road to good health will be filled with some ups and downs, but will take you to a place of clearer and more positive thinking, most likely weight loss, and yes, even increased beauty. The first step is to get on that road though. One way to begin is to look at things you are doing/eating that you already know are not good for you, and search out healthy substitutes to replace them with. It is also so important to realize that you may not see changes you want overnight. For many of us it takes years of implementing healthy practices into our lives to see results, but they do come.
