For those  who know how foods affect our whole life, including our thinking processes and behavior, find it easy to look at diet as a potential remedy to the rampant diagnosis of ADD and ADHD. Attention deficit disorder is not just a problem in children. If you were diagnosed with childhood ADD/ADHD, chances are, you’ve carried at least some of the symptoms into adulthood. But even if you were never diagnosed with ADD/ADHD as a child, that doesn’t mean you can’t be affected by it as an adult.

Attention deficit disorder often goes unrecognized throughout childhood. This was especially common in the past, when very few people were aware of ADD/ADHD. Instead or recognizing your symptoms and identifying the real issue, your family, teachers, or other parents may have labeled you a dreamer, a goof-off, a slacker, a troublemaker, or just a bad student.

Alternately, you may have been able to compensate for the symptoms of ADD/ADHD when you were young, only to run into problems as your responsibilities increase.

In the best-selling book by Rachel Bell and Dr. Howard Peiper, The A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. Diet provides a look at the contributing factors and natural treatments for symptoms of these diagnosis’.

Potential causes for ADD and ADHD:

  • poor nutrition
  • environmental contaminants
  • allergies to food and environment that affect the nervous system

  • increased and repeated use of antibiotics
  • spinal column misalignments and craniosacral system obstructions
  • electromagnetic stress from TV and technology

Since this book focuses on diet it encourages the reader to do a few things to see what foods might be causing the problem such as:

  • fast and then eat foods separately to notice effects
  • use a rotation diet
  • get tested for allergies
  • read about what other people did
  • practice proper food combining
  • see a doctor who specializes in natural care for ADD/ADHD

The symptoms – possibly including, but not limited to: short attention span, memory lapse, irritability, anxiety, poor motor control, withdrawn behavior, maldigestion, difficulty communicating, inability to focus, talking too loud and too fast, inability to follow directions, sit still or listen, learning difficulties.

Possible contributing factor: food allergies, chemical sensitivity, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, amino acid insufficiency, spinal misalignment, stress on the central nervous system and more.

  • Is there a connection between chemical fumes and learning ability?
  • Can maldigestion contribute to behavior problems?
  • What is commenly misdiagnosed as ADD or ADHD?
  • Can diet contribute to fatigue and depression?
  • What really is ADD/ADHD?
  • Is the problem hereditary?

“This important book, The A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. Diet, will provide the type of answers that are needed to make an informed choice for safer, better, easier and less expensive treatments for ADD and ADHD.” ~ Doris J. Rapp, M.D., Clinical Asst. Professor of Pediatrics SUNYAB, author of Is This Your Child’s World?

Dr. Benjamin Feingold, is a pioneer who popularized a special diet for kids with hyperactivity which was originally presented in ’Why Your Child is Hyperactive’, Dr. Feingold says that the child’s diet should prohibit synthetic or artificial food coloring, flavors, and preservatives.

Avoid These Foods

The diet should also prohibit any food containing natural salicylates, such as almonds, apples (cider and cider vinegar), apricots, all berries, cherries, cloves, coffee, cucumbers, pickles, currants, grapes, raisins, wine and wine vinegar, nectarines, wintergreen (methyl salicylate) essential oil, oranges, peaches, peppers, plums, prunes, tangerines, tea, tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplant.

The suggested diet changes is much like the Candida Diet, quite possibly because the eco-terrain in the gut has so much to do with our thinking and behavioral processes.

ADD / ADHD Testimonials

Diagnosed with early signs ADHD

“James is our 2-year-old son that has recently been diagnosed by professionals as having early signs of ADHD.  He is too young to be truly diagnosed yet as he is not in school and the diagnosis is usually made closer to six years of age. A family friend who works with children noticed his behavior was “abnormal.”  We had just assumed that he was a “busy” boy as he is our oldest child and so we had nothing to compare to.  This was just our “normal” life.  Later, we found out that some of his behaviors are typical of the ADHD diagnosis.  Some of those behaviors are constant inattention (even when playing with toys), being unfocused when given tasks, and constantly moving around with an inability to sit still.  These were just a few of the behaviors our friend noticed.  Through the process we learned this is a neurological disorder – not a behavioral or psychological disorder.

The “busyness” started causing a problem when it started affecting his sleep – or lack thereof. James found it hard to relax enough to fall asleep. His whole body would actually flop around on the bed – seeming to be uncomfortable and trying to find just the right position.  Then, when he did fall asleep it would not be for long.  He would wake up several times a night.  Most of the time he would be crying or upset for some reason.

We attended an OT evaluation in which the therapist agreed he did have some signs and symptoms of ADHD although 2-year-olds are busy – especially boys; this is the reason they don’t diagnose ADD or ADHD with children this young. She did give us some strategies on how to manage, especially at night. She suggested some things that we could physically do to help his body calm down. (All of her suggestions included helping with his sensory integration. Some of those measures were using weights around his waist or ankles, actually swaddling him in his blanket on the nights when he was inconsolable, and using squishy balls for him to squeeze when anxious.)  Those measures helped a bit but she warned us we would probably not see immediate results.

Then, we went for a visit to see my parents and my mother put me in contact with Nancy Sanderson. She is a wonderfully giving woman who shared with me the positive effects that Young Living Essential Oils have had for others with anxious children. I am fairly open-minded to the natural part of treatment rather than the medical so I was very interested although I knew my husband would be more skeptical. Needless, to say – I signed up that day and Nancy helped me place an order focusing on the specific oils that were shown to help anxious children (Peace and Calming, Vetiver, Lavender, and Brain Power essential oils).

Several days later I received my order and that evening after my son’s bath I put Vetiver on his temples, his feet, and his upper back. I made it a deep massage which would be relaxing to him anyway, with the added benefit of the oil.  That night I noticed an immediate difference.

Before going to bed, he played with his cars and trucks for about 45 minutes – very unusual. (Typically, he skips from toy to toy, activity to activity – almost frantically.) Then, when lying down to go to sleep he did not flip/flop like usual.  We were able to talk about the day and things of interest to him before he fell asleep.  He went to bed around 9:30 or 10:00 that night and slept until 9:00 the next morning – very unusual!  He slept in the exact same position he fell asleep in – so I know he didn’t toss and turn much during the night either.  The next morning he seemed much more rested and was quite happy.

Later that morning the child development professional came for her usual biweekly meeting with James.  She noticed a difference as well as he was able to focus on the tasks she wanted him to do and wasn’t just running wild around us. Keep in mind, he is still two … and a boy!  James is still our lovable, carefree, busy boy – just a different kind of busy.  He seems to be able to focus on things for longer periods of time and can actually sit for several stories or games.

The next day, I immediately ordered the diffuser so that I can diffuse oils in his bedroom at night, as well as putting the oils on him.  I must say that I am truly impressed with the oils so far and plan on continuing them into the future to help my son as well as our whole family.” – Rhonda S.

Essential Oils in Essendulum

“I have a couple of customers who find the most success with vetiver, peace & calming, roman chamomile, and peppermint.

One family bought an essendulum for their son.  He wears it to school (under his shirt) with his choice of oil in it.  When he feels the need, he simply holds it to his nose and inhales. The essendulum he has does have a cork in it, so the scent is not very obvious to others.  I think this is probably why no one has complained about it. When he wore oils on his skin to school, his teachers complained.

Both families also had great success by making major dietary changes. They eliminated food dyes, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, MSG, and most processed foods.  By turning to a more whole-foods diet, in conjunction with the oil use, they have been able to avoid medications.

One last suggestion: you might seek out a holistic physician in your area. I am very fortunate in that my kids’ pediatricians are certified in both traditional medicine and holistic medicine.  While I have not had to use it, I do know that they have a whole lifestyle protocol that they recommend for ADD and ADHD kids.  It includes limited tv time, lots of sunshine, dietary changes and more.  Medications are the absolute last resort that they offer to parents. I hope this helps.” ~ Melissa

Peace & Calming on Tissue

“My first experience with essential oils was when my son was overwhelmed with ADHD. While visiting a friend my son could not sit still. He stayed in one place on the sofa but kept bouncing up and down. My friend suggested trying Peace and Calming Oil. We started using the oil at night in a diffuser. He slept so much better and started his day more focused. We put drops of the oil on a tissue and he kept it in his pocket when he went to school. We continued to use the Peace and Calming at night for many years. This was the beginning of successfully overcoming his ADHD.” ~ Carolyn

Diffusing Lavender

“We have a 3 year old friend who comes for a weekly sleep over with our 4 year old. His mother has been told that he is borderline ADHD and borderline Autistic, he is very active with no attention span unless he gets intrigued. He is prone to getting up as many as 4 times a night and being up by 6am, rambunctious and ready for the day after a 9:30 bedtime. I started diffusing lavender in the bedroom before I put the boys to bed. Once they\’re tucked in I remove the diffuser. Now both sleep peacefully from 9:30pm til 7:30am without interruption and almost without exception!” ~ Victoria

Tension headaches, tight muscles, and overall soreness are commonalities of most adults. Deep Relief Essential Oil Roll-On offers a convenient, natural remedy to these indications. What makes Deep Relief a great, natural solution for muscle soreness and tension relief ? Several essential oils highly regarded for anti-inflammatory properties are found in this blend. Peppermint, wintergreen, and Copaiba are just three of the key ingredients that contribute to efficacy of Deep Relief.

Primary Benefits of Deep Relief Roll-On

  • Peppermint and wintergreen essential oils soothe sore joints and ligaments
  • Deep Relief Essential Oil Roll-On helps counter stressed nerves
  • Copaiba essential oil reduces inflammation and muscle spasms
  • Deep Relief Essential Oil Roll-On eases tight, sore muscles
  • The essential oil roll-on offers portability convenience in a no-mess application

Key Essential Oils in the Deep Relief Essential Oil Blend

  • Copaiba essential oil (Copaifera L. genus) is commonly used in anti-inflammatory recipes prescribed by Amazonian traditional medical practitioners. Featured in European and North American pharmacopeias, copaiba is recognized for reducing inflammation and muscle spasms.
  • Helichrysum essential oil (Helichrysum italicum) has been studied by European researchers for regenerating tissue and improving circulation. In short supply, helichrysum is one of Young Living’s most prized oils. Helichrysum can be used for aromatherapy or diffused to aid in tension relief.

Stress Away Essential Oil Roll-On

Stress Away Roll-On is a unique blend of vanilla, lime, and other essential oils makes relieving daily stress convenient and easy. This blend smells so wonderful I wear it as a perfume!

Stress Away also includes copaiba and lavender to reduce mental rigidity and restore equilibrium. It also features powerful plant constituents, such as the cedrol found in cedarwood and the eugenol that occurs naturally in vanilla. Cedrol can help induce relaxation, while eugenol works to reduce nervous tension. All of these ingredients are expertly blended with the exotic scent of ocotea, Young Living’s exclusive Ecuador single.

Adding to the uplifting aroma of Stress Away is a subtle hint of lime, from Young Living’s unique coumarin-free lime essential oil. Regular lime, like most citrus essential oils, contains coumarins that are potentially photo-sensitizing and damaging to the skin. Young Living Therapeutic-grade lime essential oil minimizes any skin sensitivity, particularly when used while in the sun.

Stress Away Benefits

  • Reduce stress any time, anywhere with the convenience and portability of an essential oil roll-on.
  • Use Stress Away in anticipation of events or situations that may cause mental tension.
  • Lessening normal everyday stress can lead to improved sleep and elevated state of mind.

Key Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils in Stress Away

  • Vanilla – the warm, sweet aroma of vanilla calms and reduces tension.
  • Lime – the delicious scent of lime is robust and refreshing.
  • Ocotea – ocotea is an exotic scent somewhat similar to cinnamon.
  • Cedarwood - one of the highest known levels of sesquiterpenes, cedarwood works with the brain to improve relaxation.
  • Copaiba – supports the Stress Away blend with the powerful constituent beta caryophyllene.
  • Lavender – a floral scent that helps calms any tense mood.

How To Use Stress Away Roll-On

Shake well and apply generously to wrists, neck, arms, or anywhere you love experiencing essential oils.

Notable Facts About the essential Oils in Stress Away

  • Ocotea essential oil is derived from the tall ocotea tree and has a long history of traditional usage in the Amazon.
  • Copaiba is the only essential oil extracted through tapping, similar to how maple and rubber are gathered.
  • The vanilla in Stress Away does not contain water, unlike most vanilla oil sold on the market today.

What makes little sense to me is the fact that over 30 years ago it was proven that rates of cavities began going down around the world, even in countries that did not have fluoridated water, fluoride toothpaste, or fluoride tablets; yet fluoride was and still is touted as being the only way to prevent cavities. There is no accurate evidence that fluoride makes any difference to oral health.[1]

The chart below from the World Health Organization clearly shows the trends of oral health getting better since the 1960s in populations around the world who did not have fluoridated water and dental products. The question arises, why then do we continue to use an extremely deadly substance in our water and oral care products?

Typical toothpaste warning printed on the label/box:

“Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional help or contact a poison control center immediately.”

Typical mouthwash caution printed on the label:

“In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Do not use in children under six years of age. Supervise children over six.”

These warnings ARE on every brand of toothpaste and mouthwash I have seen!

When a warning is on a product it does mean it is and can be fatal.

Anita Shattuck states in Fluoridation: The Fraud of the Century

“Fluoridation is not about “children’s teeth,” it is about industry getting rid of its hazardous waste at a profit, instead of having to pay a fortune to dispose of it. [the industry she is referring to is the aluminum and phosphate fertilizer industries]

Only calcium fluoride occurs naturally in water; however, that type of fluoride has never been used for fluoridation. Instead what is used over 90 percent of the time are silicofluorides, which are 85 times more toxic than calcium fluoride…”

Shattuck continues…

“The largest study of tooth decay in America (by the National Institute of Dental Research in 1987) proved that there was no significant difference in the decay rates of 39,000 fluoridated, partially fluoridated and non-fluoridated children, ages 5 to 17, surveyed in 84 cities. The media has never disclosed these facts. The study cost us, the taxpayers, $3,670,000. Surely, we are entitled to hear the results.[2]

Newburgh and Kingston, both in the state of New York, were two of the original fluoridation test cities. A recent study by the New York State Department of Health showed that after 50 years of fluoridation, Newburgh’s children have a slightly higher number of cavities than never-fluoridated Kingston.[2]

The recent California fluoridation study, sponsored by the Dental Health Foundation, showed that California has only about one quarter as much water fluoridation as the nation as a whole, yet 15-year-old California children have less tooth decay than the national average.[3]“

Since there is no accurate evidence at all that proves fluoride is beneficial and only huge amounts of evidence showing that fluoride is extremely unhealthy it makes me wonder… why exactly are we still allowing these people to convince us that fluoride is even remotely beneficial???

One tube of ordinary toothpaste can literally kill two children if ingested. One tube can kill an adult if ingested. This is serious stuff!

The ingredients highlighted in “red” are the ingredients that would be responsible for fatalities. The other ingredients would be a slower accumulation of poisons becoming lodged in tissues, organs and fat cells.

Visit the EWG (Environmental Working Group) website, type in any of the above ingredients or ingredients in personal care products you have at home right now to find out just how toxic the products are – this is a very cool and useful database!

Researchers in the US found that the chlorine added to water in Britain reacted with triclosan to produce chloroform-gas. They found that it was possible for the chloroform produced when soap containing the chemical mixes with chlorinated water to be absorbed through the skin or inhaled. Read more

Dollar store toothpastes may contain up to 10 times the fluoride – an extreme health hazard!

It only makes sense to not use toxic dental care products, especially when it comes to our health and our kids health.

Young Living has KidScents Toothpaste which has no poisons or chemicals – yes, it is edible and also has the benefits of our fabulous essential oils!

Young Living also has 3 different toothpastes for adults (and perfectly suitable for kids, some kids prefer the adult toothpaste better) the Thieves Ultra Toothpaste I think is the best – all of which have the amazing benefits of our Thieves essential oil and all are free of poisons and chemicals too – yes, it’s edible!

My Testimonial

This is the ONLY toothpaste and mouthwash (Thieves) that I have ever used that actually made any difference, and the difference has been amazing!!! I have saved a fortune on dental cleanings by simply using the Thieves Ultra Toothpaste. The therapeutic-grade essential oils in the Thieves essential oil blend (which are added to this toothpaste and mouthwash) actually kill the s. mutans bacteria in our mouths that cause plaque and tartar. This is how all toothpastes and mouthwashes ’should’ work!  After using this pair, I will never even consider going back and using inferior dental care products again! ~ Evelyn Vincent

Aroma Siez Testimonials

Discomfort in Deep Muscles

“Every fall when the weather is hot, then cold, then hot, then cold here in Florida, I get chest pains that my doctor has characterized as Charlie horses in the deep muscles of my chest. Unlike a leg or foot muscle, you can’t massage these or walk to stretch them, so there was nothing to do but “endure” these annoying episodes, which sometimes lasted for two hours. One night I woke up with this chest pain, and as I lay there thinking about what I could do for it, I remembered the instant results I had had with Aroma Siez on other people’s leg cramps. So I got up and rubbed a few drops of Aroma Siez on my chest, and the pain went away in about 10 minutes!” ~ Jan E.

Aroma Siez After Strenous Activity

“We use Aroma Siez after our Tai Chi classes or a long day of gardening. Smells spicy. Works wonderfully.” ~ Cynthe B.

Aroma Siez and Muscle Spasm

“After moving a heavy bureau, I had muscle cramps along the left side of my body. The cramps were so severe, I almost went for a series of trigger point injections. Instead, I had a friend apply a drop each of helichrysum essential oil and Aroma Siez oil blend on the most tender point of the muscle and press hard, wiggling the finger just a little. In each trigger point, this process released the spasm. I repeated this procedure on a friend who had an uncomfortable charlie horse on his leg, and the discomfort stopped immediately. He was truly surprised because he had muscle spasms in his leg for years, and nothing had ever worked before.” ~ Sharon T.

Aroma Siez for Tight Muscles

“I have also recently had some experiences with cramping of the toes and feet (VERY uncomfortable), and I used Aroma Siez, since it is for seized up muscles. It worked beautifully, within a couple of minutes.” ~ Joy

Aroma Siez and Foot Cramps

“Another manifestation of my current body imbalance was waking up in the middle of the night with foot cramps…big OUCH! Thank goodness I had my trusty Aroma Siez (for those seized-up muscles) handy. I just applied a couple of drops neat on top of the feet, and on the bottom, and again, the cramping stopped as if by magic. I am so grateful that I now have built my “stash” of oils to have them all. I remember well when I was just beginning in the business, and my upline (who just came into the business a week or so before me) and I used to discuss which oils we would order first, in our desire to build an inventory, and how we felt it would be quite a while before we could order the kits.

It’s interesting to look back on that time, and I’m so grateful I stayed with it. Over time, Young Living has brought many blessings…not only the wonderful effective healing, but the abundance to now order whatever I choose without concern. The choice to join Young Living certainly turned out to be one of my better decisions in this lifetime!” ~ Anonymous

Aroma Siez for Charlie Horse

“From time to time I get charlie horses and when I apply the Aroma Siez on the knot and massage it in the muscle will relax and the knot goes away. ( Another thing you need to remember is when you get a lot of charlie horses you are not drinking enough water). Also I use the Aroma Siez when I do massage to relieve the tight muscles in the back.” ~  Nancy S.

What Doug did for disk problem

“My experience with essential oils started like most people, with a physical condition and pain. I began having severe neck pain which progressed down my left shoulder and ultimately to my left elbow. At first, I just lived with it, but then I started to experience weakness in my left tricep, and that’s when I decided to contact a doctor and see what was wrong.

An MRI showed the disk between the C-6 and C-7 vertebrae to be bulging. The swelling in the joint was putting pressure on the nerve which was causing the pain and the weakness in my arm. In fact, the tricep muscle was actually beginning to atrophy.

My doctor gave me 3 options, first, physical therapy sessions. I did that with little effect. Second, an epidural in my neck, which is an injection of anti-inflammatory drugs directly into the disk designed to reduce the swelling and help the disk move back in place. The third option was surgery, where they would fuse the two vertebrae together.

I was in my early 30’s and very active in sports and skiing and did not want options 2 or 3! That’s when a friend told me about the oils and how they had helped him with a similar problem with his back.  Long story short, I tried them, and it was nothing short of a miracle!  Within minutes my neck and shoulder felt better, and by the next morning, I had no more pain! ZERO!

My neck and arm have been fine since, nearly 10 years now, and I regularly use the oils as simple maintenance and for many other reasons that are too numerous to list here. Many people have asked me which oils were used on my back and neck, so here is a list of the oils and how they were applied by Julie Herbert – whose husband, Gordon, first introduced me to these amazing medicines.

Start with Valor on the feet. Then layer oils of Basil, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, Wintergreen, PanAway, Cypress, LEMONGRASS, Geranium, and Peppermint on the VitaFlex points on the feet, one after another. (There is a foot chart in the book, Essential Oils Desk Reference, which shows where points related to the spine, shoulders and neck are located on the feet called VitaFlex points).

Then apply the same oils on the neck and shoulder or pain-affected area using Peppermint last, followed by Ortho Ease. Peppermint is used last because it is the amplifier of the other oils followed by Ortho Ease. Today, for someone with the same condition, you would also use Idaho Balsam Fir, and then start taking the supplements BLM (for bone, muscle, and ligaments) and Sulfurzyme.

BLM and Sulfurzyme were not available when I had my neck problem. I am a true believer in the power of these oils to heal the body, mind, and spirit. I hope you will experience the same kind of results as you use these wonderful products. I can’t put into words how grateful I am to have discovered essential oils.” ~ Doug L.

Rose (Rosa damascena) has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic and intoxicating and believed to be aphrodisiac. Rose essential oil helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence. Used for skin care for thousands of years, it is perfect for dry or aging skin.

The benefit of using a pure and true Rose essential oil is that it will provide aroma therapy benefits; whereas a lower quality or fragrance aromatherapy oil will provide nothing more than possibly a placebo affect. Therefore, it is always most advantageous to use the best available, I use and highly recommend Young Living Essential Oils.

Rose oil has the most diverse healing applications of any essential oil used in aromatherapy today. The oil is considered a supreme healer of both the body and soul. The energy of rose essential oil is said to have powerful effects on both the mind [olfactory] and heart [chakras], providing a state of overall well-being.

Each of the chakras has specific glands and organs it affects. It is believed that we can enhance the vitality of a chakra through exposing it to colors, sounds, minerals and essential oils.

The heart chakra is the center of compassion, love, group consciousness, and spiritually; associated with “oneness” with “all that is.”

A healthy heart chakra can allow us to experience love and compassion more fully, and provide a deep sense of peace and centeredness. Healing or stimulating the heart chakra can help to ease heart and chest conditions, such as; emotional issues (give and receive love), stress, anger and depression.

The alternative health applications of Rose essential oil are many. Exceptionally beneficial to the female reproductive organs as it is said to act as a tonic for the whole system. Young Living Rose essential oil can be diluted in an aromatherapy V-6 massage oil and massaged into the pelvic region for this effect; it is said to be both a regulating and purifying to both the body and mind.

The ‘Precious’ Rose Oil: how to buy it without breaking the bank

The Liver is the body’s largest internal organ and major detoxifier for the body. Even the toxins in the air we breathe are filtered by the liver, including chemicals from aerosol cleaners, paint, bug sprays, personal care products, household cleaning products, air fresheners, etc.

Juva Cleanse® provides support for the liver through a carefully formulated blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils that supports normal liver function.*

Clinical Studies Using Helichrysum, Ledum, Celery Seed Essential Oils (Juva Cleanse®)

Clinical studies show that an essential oil blend of helichrysum, ledum, and celery seed (Juva Cleanse®) dramatically amplified the elimination from the body of heavy metals, especially mercury, one of the most toxic of all non-radioactive metals. Mercury is particularly damaging to the brain and nervous system because it can pass through blood-brain barrier and accumulate indefinitely in motor neurons.

A 2003 clinical study involving a group of four patients tested the effect of three essential oils on the urinary output of mercury. Four healthy individuals (ages 27 to 69) took two capsules per day (approximately 1,500 mg) of a blend of helichrysum, ledum, and celery seed (the Juva Cleanse® essential oil blend). The first urine collection occurred prior to essential oil therapy, with the second and third urine collections occurring two and four days after essential oil therapy had begun. The results showed that all four participants more than doubled their urinary elimination of mercury over the four days of evaluation.

How to Use Juva Cleanse® Essential Oil Blend

  • Apply topically over liver or on foot Vita Flex points for the liver and kidneys.
  • Use with the Raindrop Technique.

Juva Cleanse® as a Dietary Supplement

  • Dilute 50:50 (with organic olive oil) and put in a size 0 capsule. Take twice daily.
  • Or, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat’s or rice milk.

This insight on Olympic athlete’s and the law of attraction is from my friend Jeannette Maw…

Who else watched last night as the Russians ended a 12 time winning streak in Olympic pairs figure skating?

In fact, I can hardly take my eyes off any Olympic coverage – it’s so exciting!

One of our Good Vibe U forum members posted about how unhelpful it is when announcers focus on the athletes’ limitations and weak points as they’re performing.  (“Now this is where she’s struggled all season, let’s see if she can pull it off now.”)  Not a great focus for supporting success, huh?

Then yesterday afternoon seeing the cross country skiers collapse in exhaustion after crossing the finish line, it was easy to admire the all out effort they gave in an attempt to be recognized as the best at what they do.

It made me wonder about my recent post about how if it feels like work, it doesn’t work.  Watching those skiers at the extreme of their physical endurance practically put me in the mood to go stretch myself at something!

As I was contemplating the “feel good” of “working hard,” I dialed into the pairs figure skating event and watched Kavaguti and Smirnov blow their chances at a gold medal.

The announcer’s commentary about the Russian skaters was insightful from a law of attraction perspective.

Before they performed, there were plenty of reasons to expect this couple to do well, including the fact that the Russian dynasty for Olympic gold in this event had been in place since 1964 and that this very couple had an upset win at the European Figure Skating Championships last month.

After they faltered in a performance that cost them the medal, one of the announcers astutely observed:

“There is such a fine line between wanting it and wanting it too much.  And squeezing too hard and trying to force it to happen.  If they had just trusted what they’d been doing all week.”

The second announcer joined in to suggest that the couple had “practiced too hard” and didn’t have enough gas to get through it when it counted, despite the fact that they were looking really good prior to competing.

My takeaway from this is that there’s nothing wrong with sweating and pushing to our extreme – when it feels good.  But paying attention to where our fine line is – which is an individual phenomenon – to know when we cross into territory of resistance and worry and clinging .. that’s gotta be our sign to back off and find our way back to good.

I’m sure we’ll see more examples of the art of releasing resistance and creating vibrational alignment as the games continue!

In the meantime, Michele Woodward and Jeannette are going public with their scintillating conversations about life.

And if you’re interested in exploring the topic of relationships in more detail, Martha Beck, Terry DeMeo and Jeannette begin four weekly calls starting next Tuesday (2/23).  That one is $89 to signup, and yes, it’ll be recorded if you can’t dial in live.

Antibiotic overuse is becoming a real problem. If you have already read my article, Antibiotics and Children, then you know that Medical science is growing concerned because they are finding that bacterias are smart, and that they are learning how to mutate to make themselves immune to antibiotic treatment (also known as antibiotic resistance). The following information comes from an article by the American College of Physicians.

“Antibiotic resistance is a worldwide public health problem that continues to grow. It occurs when strains of bacteria in the human body become resistant to antibiotics due to improper use and abuse of antibiotics.

The article went on to say that more the 133 million courses of antibiotics are prescribed to non-hospitalized patients by doctors each year, and that an estimated 50 percent of them are unnecessary. The main reason they are prescribed unnecessarily is because patients insist on them. This is what I like to call, playing with fire. In other words, what will we do when the bad bugs become too smart for medical science?

So, what do you do when the doctor will not prescribe you an antibiotic? First of all, there are many things you can do to nourish your body as means of prevention before you even get sick. Should you get sick, having taken care of your body before hand means you are more likely to bounce back quicker. However, if you are already sick, the 5 tips below are not only some things you can do to nourish the body and immune system, but they can even be useful in reducing symptoms for some who are already sick.

  1. Take Probiotics. This is perhaps the single most important thing you can do, and it is especially important if you must take an antibiotic! Why? Have you ever noticed how many times people continue to catch bad bugs after their antibiotic treatments? This is because the antibiotic wipes out the natural, good bacteria that protects us from bad bacterias. Supplementing with heavy doses of probiotics after antibiotic treatments is beneficial in repopulating the digestive system with healthy bacteria. I was recently informed that some antibiotics are beginning to come with a type of probiotic for people to follow up with, however our family loves Young Livings Life 5 purchased here. According to the product fact sheet on Life 5 it provides “Improved immunity: Probiotics, especially the super strain (LA-14), have been shown to be a tremendous support to immune function.*” A good probiotic should have over 1 billion live cultures, otherwise you should look for a different one (good ones appear expensive at first glance, but they beat the alternative). Young Livings Life 5 has “8 billion active cultures and improves colonization up to 10 times.” Read more on Life 5 here.
  2. Vitamin D-3. No doubt, you have heard about Vitamin D-3 this year. Studies have been published even in local newspapers about how most people are deficient in it, and how dangerous this deficiency is, especially for children. According to Wikipedia, it is beneficial for many things, including modulating normal, immune system function.
  3. Thieves! Thieves is an invaluable Young Living blend of highly antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-infectious essential oils and has been clinically tested to kill airborne microorganisms. Further testing found that the longer Thieves was diffused into the air, the stronger it became, and although the bad bugs try to mutate it does them no good (1). Young Living provides a line of Thieves products (purchased here), including Inner Defense, Thieves lozenges, Household Cleaner and more. For children, Thieves Lozenges available from Young Living are phenomenal! They are chewable, and they are safe, but I will warn you, your children will want to eat them like candy so keep them up where they cannot get them! Products like Inner Defense (pills containing Thieves) are wonderful for supporting normal immune function, however the bottle says to seek a professional’s guidance on using this product on children (mine says it is okay for my children). I will say, the Thieves essential oil blend is one of the most used products in our home! More then once have sore throat symptoms disappeared after taking just one drop!
  4. Eat Healthy. The more you can cut sugar out of the diet during the sick seasons and replace it with healthy snacks like fruit, the better off you will be. Sugar has been proven to depress the immune system (2).
  5. Keep hydrated. It takes patience, and work, but even children can be taught to stay hydrated during a cold/flu.
